About Zero For Life

Hello,

I’m Jamie Fargason, creator of ZeroForLife.com – a website for people who cannot consume gluten.  Helping people with celiac disease, gluten intolerance, and allergies to gluten containing ingredients take charge of their health and happiness is my undying passion.

I was diagnosed with celiac disease years before most people had even heard the words “gluten free”. Despite knowing this diagnosis my entire life, I didn’t know much about it. My parents were provided very little information about how to care for me beyond being told, “she can’t eat bread”. It would be many years after that before I faced the truth about exactly what contained gluten or what the repercussions would be for not strictly adhering to a gluten free diet.

I struggled for too long with poor health including chronic fatigue, neuropathy, weight fluctuations, digestive issues, hypoglycemia, gallbladder attacks, chronic vitamin deficiency, secondary infertility, DVT, migraines, Hashimoto’s hypothyroidism and more.

It wasn’t until I was in my 30’s – after a relative was diagnosed with cancer – that I began to halfway attempt to follow a gluten free diet. Months after they passed away from cancer, one of my young children was labeled as “failure to thrive”. After being misdiagnosed years earlier, she finally fell to the first percentile on the growth chart, then was subsequently diagnosed with celiac disease like I had been. Like a slap in the face, I was jolted to the reality of how fragile life was.

I knew I had to get serious about it all – not just for my sake, but for both our sakes. I was driven by a strong maternal instinct to do the best for my child, which included using my degree in science to dive deep into the research on celiac disease. What I discovered absolutely shocked me.

Everything I thought I understood about celiac disease was merely a mirage – a fool’s paradise – and nearly everyone in the population was drinking the Kool-Aid.

Fueled by my newfound knowledge of truth, I have since felt compelled to share what I’ve learned with others in the hope that they could avoid unnecessary suffering like my child and I had.

If you or a loved one were diagnosed with celiac disease and told that you need to “just eat gluten free” before being sent on your way, have been feeling lost in the online sea of misinformation, or have been “gluten free” for many years but still feeling sick, then you’ve come to the right place.

A diagnosis of celiac disease can be overwhelming, but like a lifeguard, I’m determined to throw you a life preserver and guide you to the safety of a proper gluten free diet. I’m here to help you quickly learn this lifestyle by providing you with both accurate health information that’s grounded in science and practical tools to help you successfully implement all you’ve learned in your daily life.

There are a lot of ideas out there on how best to live a gluten free lifestyle, but my personal experiences coupled with the lesser-known scientific research that I’m unafraid to honestly share with you gives me a unique perspective into tackling the challenges you’re facing.

Learning the truth about what it means to be “gluten free” means giving yourself the power to take control of your health.

No matter what you’ve experienced up until this point in time, I firmly believe that with the right diet and proper support, you can reach your goal of living the healthiest and most purpose-filled life you were always meant to live.

Inspired by a quote from the Father of Medicine, I’ll leave you with this:

“The wise man should consider that health is the greatest of human blessings. Let food be your medicine.” ~ Hippocrates

Be blessed,

~ Jamie
