The Safest Gluten-Free Candy List

*THIS POST MAY CONTAIN AFFILIATE LINKS. PLEASE SEE OUR PRIVACY POLICY FOR DISCLOSURE INFORMATION.

At Zero For Life, we believe that managing celiac disease starts with informed consent – and that includes knowing exactly what’s in your candy. That’s why our Gluten-Free Candy List includes only candies from manufacturers who have made a clear gluten-free claim.

We don’t include candies with “no gluten ingredients” that are “possibly safe.” Why? Because no gluten ingredients does NOT mean gluten-free. Shared equipment, cross-contamination, and vague manufacturing practices put individuals with celiac disease at real risk.

When your health is on the line, you deserve certainty – not guesswork.

Why Only Candy With a Gluten-Free Claim?

Some manufacturers may not test or label their candy even if it technically meets the criteria. Others may use ambiguous statements like “no gluten ingredients,” which offer no legal guarantee that the product is safe.

We don’t think that’s good enough.

At Zero For Life, we only recommend candy from brands that either:

  • Clearly label their products as gluten-free, or
  • Publicly state that their candy is produced and tested to meet the legally defined “<20 PPM of gluten” threshold set by the FDA.

This ensures that you’re making the most informed, medically sound choices for your health.

Read Labels Every Time – Even on Familiar Favorites

Here’s the truth: ingredients and manufacturing practices can change at any time – often without warning. Just because a candy was safe last Halloween doesn’t mean it’s safe this year.

✅ Always read the full label before you eat.
✅ Look for the gluten-free claim.
✅ Re-check – even if it’s a brand you’ve trusted before.

Companies change suppliers. They reformulate ingredients. They shift to different production lines. The only way to stay safe is to verify every single time.

Jamie with ZERO For Life

Hi, I'm Jamie

My name is Jamie. My family and I know first hand what it's like to live with celiac disease and food allergies. Helping people like us with similar challenges take charge of their health and happiness is my undying passion. My focus is on providing you with both accurate health information that’s grounded in science and practical tools to help you successfully live a completely gluten free and/or allergen free lifestyle.
