University Housing and Dining offers a variety of gluten-free options across campus dining locations:
- Burge Market Place: Features the Thrive station, which prepares meals free from gluten and the top nine allergens in a controlled environment to reduce the risk of cross-contact.
- Food for Thought Café: Located in the Main Library, the Food for Thought Café offers vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free items, including paninis, deli sandwiches, and salads.
- Hillcrest Market Place: Located in Hillcrest Residence Hall, Hillcrest Market Place offers nine (9) different stations offering a fresh variety of foods, including a made-to-order burger bar. This location also serves a variety of home style items, deli sandwiches, a BBQ station and Asian entrees. Hillcrest Market Place is cashless and accepts meal plan swipes, Hawkeye Dollars, UI Charge, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.
- Made-to-Order Stations: Students can request gluten-free meals at various made-to-order stations, where staff follow proper procedures to ensure safe cooking.

Gluten-Free Refrigerator: Each all-you-care-to-eat market place has a designated gluten-free refrigerator storing individually packaged gluten-free items, including bread, buns, bagels, and cookies.
